The relationship between obstructive sleep apnea, cognitive impairment, and Lead Investigator: Mansi Patel Institution : NYU Medical Center E-Mail : mansip423@gmail.com Proposal ID : 739 Proposal Description: This goal of this study is to determine how obstructive sleep apnea affects cognitive impairment. It is known that obstructive sleep apnea is a vascular risk factor for cognitive impairment and we hypothesize that those patients with obstructive sleep apnea will present with more severe cognitive impairment than those patients without such sleep disturbances. Since the prevalence of obstructive sleep apnea also varies by race, more notably in the black population, we are also interested in determining how cognitive impairment due to sleep disturbances varies by race.
